The Tenafly Tigers were the 64-55 winner over the Northern Highlands Highlanders when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Tenafly took a serious blow against the Highlanders on Saturday, falling 75-47. While losing is never fun, Tenafly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 31st).
Lucas Dipasupil continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northern Highlands, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Dipasupil posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Freddie Kanning, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Tenafly's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Northern Highlands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tenafly will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northern Highlands, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
