Jonathan Newton Goes Supernova in the Covenant Victory
Jonathan Newton was instrumental in extending The Covenant's winning streak to six on Friday. Rappahannock County had no answer to Newton as he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown. Newton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Unfortunately for Rappahannock County, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Newton. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Newton saw the ), he rushed for 283 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries.

DJ Caban's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fourth-straight game with 115+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes.
Unfortunately for Chincoteague, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Caban. Caban rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Ponies duked it out back in September of 2023.
