Jonathan Newton was instrumental in extending The Covenant's winning streak to six on Friday. Rappahannock County had no answer to Newton as he rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown. Newton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Unfortunately for Chincoteague, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Caban. Caban rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Ponies duked it out back in September of 2023.
