The Meadville Eagles put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Bishop LeBlond with a sharp 61-38 victory. Meadville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 23 points or more this season.
Meadville was led to victory by Madison Carvajal and Korrie Holcer. Carvajal scored 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Holcer scored 22 points along with six steals. Holcer is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Carvajal, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meadville pushed their record up to 21-0 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Bishop LeBlond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meadville will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop LeBlond, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Cameron focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday.
