The Curlew Cougars entered their tilt with the Northport Mustangs with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. Everything went Curlew's way against Northport on Thursday as Curlew made off with a 56-31 victory. Curlew has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
Curlew was led to victory by Annika Baker and Emma Lena Baker. Baker scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Baker dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 steals. Baker hasn't dropped below two steals for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Calhoun, who scored five points along with five assists and two steals.
Curlew pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Northport, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Curlew will head out on the road to challenge Inchelium at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northport, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Republic at 4:30 p.m.
