AAAA Region 7B recap Oct. 23, 2012
Ridgeland extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 7B this week by beating Northwest Whitfield, 35-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Panthers.
Dalton led the league in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on LaFayette. Brandon Dale ran for 64 yards and caught one passes for 65 yards in the win.
Dalton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Catamounts feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cole Calfee has thrown for 718 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Dale has 26 catches for 512 yards. Kelvis Rhodes leads the league in rushing with 1050 yards.
A big matchup in AAAA Region 7B this week will be when Ridgeland takes on the Ramblers. At the moment, the Panthers are in first, while LaFayette is in fifth.
The Bruins made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,384 from 4,741. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-20 victory over Northwest Whitfield last week.
