On Wednesday, the Canastota Red Raiders's game was all tied up 11-11 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victor by a 46-25 margin over Solvay.
Solvay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Annabelle Stewart, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Solvay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Canastota's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Solvay, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canastota will take on the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Adirondack has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Solvay, they will head out on the road to challenge the Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
