Baseball Recap: Boylan Catholic Takes a Loss

Boylan Catholic lost against Sycamore back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Titans fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 9-8. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Boylan Catholic got a good showing from Owen Scandroli, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Scandroli has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryder McCauley and Ethan Mott did some serious damage despite the final result: McCauley scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Mott went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Michael Davenport, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Boylan Catholic's record is now 4-8. As for Sycamore, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Boylan Catholic will head out to square off against Prospect at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sycamore, they will welcome Harlem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
