Teton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Meeker Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Teton had to suffer through a rough 41-14 loss at the hands of Sugar-Salem. While losing is never fun, Teton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Sugar-Salem is ranked second).
Teton's loss came about despite a quality game from Thomas Heuseveldt, who picked up 132 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Meeker unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 30-6 defeat at the hands of Gunnison. The low total for Meeker limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Having lost for the first time this season, Teton fell to 6-1. As for Meeker, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Teton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Meeker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 192.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
