Bowne enjoyed a cozy 87-70 victory over Eagle Academy III on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Josiah Salmon, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 12 games he's played. Khaleel Williams-Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Bowne's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Eagle Academy III, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Bowne will head out on the road to challenge Francis Lewis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Francis Lewis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Bowne is ranked 147th). As for Eagle Academy III, they will play host again and welcome Construction, where tip off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
