Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Northgate

Northgate waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Kell Longhorns by a score of 2-0. The Vikings were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Longhorns, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

While Northgate won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22.

Maddy Schmidt paced Northgate's offense, picking up nine kills. Schmidt really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. Carolina Culver controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Kell's loss came despite strong showings from Gracie Barrett and Rilee Wells. Barrett had eight assists and five digs, while Wells had four digs and four assists.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Kell, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Coming up, Northgate will face off against Whitewater at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kell, they will challenge North Cobb Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
