The Air Force Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-27 walloping at the hands of Catalyst-Maria. While losing is never fun, Air Force Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Catalyst-Maria is ranked 271st).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Melvina Jordan, who scored 11 points. Jordan scored a full 40.7% of Air Force Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Air Force Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Catalyst-Maria, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Air Force Academy will take on Carver at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carver will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Catalyst-Maria will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Gage Park at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st.
