Baseball Recap: St. John Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Cedar Key

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Branford, St. John Lutheran was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cedar Key Sharks as the St. John Lutheran Saints made off with an 18-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Adam Stillwell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luis Roman, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

St. John Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

St. John Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cedar Key, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will challenge Ocala Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocala Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something St. John Lutheran will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cedar Key, they will square off against Meadowbrook Academy at 6:30 p.m. on March 10th.
