The Locust Grove Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 68-15 loss at the hands of Eagle's Landing. While losing is never fun, Locust Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Eagles are ranked 171st).
Despite the defeat, Locust Grove saw an underclassman step up: Casey Weaver scored seven points. Weaver continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Locust Grove dropped their record down to 6-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.8 points per game. As for Eagle's Landing, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Locust Grove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Demons at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Eagle's Landing, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union Grove will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
