While the Mifflin Punchers couldn't quite beat the Centennial Stars on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point defeat they were dealt last Saturday. Mifflin fell just short of Centennial by a score of 57-55. Mifflin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Centennial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Mifflin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Glover, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Glover hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bj Woody, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Mifflin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Centennial, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.
Mifflin will take on Columbus International at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Centennial is ranked 646th, while East is ranked 662nd).
