The Jackson-Milton Bluejays will square off against the Memorial Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson-Milton's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Jackson-Milton's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Southeast hitters got past them. The Bluejays fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 11-9 on Wednesday. It was the first time this season that the Bluejays let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Memorial ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out East Palestine 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since April 9, 2024.
Ramani Adams spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Abby Broz was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mileena Williams, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
The win got Memorial back to even at 6-6. As for Jackson-Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Everything went Jackson-Milton's way against Memorial when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Jackson-Milton made off with a 22-1 victory. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
