The Ash Fork Spartans lost against the St. Michael Cardinals back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Ash Fork fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 52-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ash Fork in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.
Ash Fork's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabril Zeller, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Zeller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Parnell Tsosie, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Ash Fork's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for St. Michael, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-16.
Ash Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Michael also has no future games currently scheduled.
