Mission Veterans Memorial is 8-2 against Cigarroa since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. On Friday, Mission Veterans Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Palmview and fell 6-5. The Patriots have struggled against the Lobos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.
Evoria Garcia and Natalie Canales did some serious damage despite the final result: Garcia scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Canales went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Camila Ruiz was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Cigarroa hadn't done well against Roma recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Cigarroa came out on top against Roma by a score of 10-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Toros.
Cigarroa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachael Mayo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Cigarroa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roma only posted an OBP of .333.
Mission Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Cigarroa, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mission Veterans Memorial has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like Cigarroa struggles in that department as they've averaged .627. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
