The Edgemont Moguls waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Hemingford 38-24. Given Edgemont's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in South Dakota, while Hemingford is ranked 266th in Nebraska), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Edgemont got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hadley Hollenbeck out in front who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Hollenbeck has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tavian Urban, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Edgemont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Hemingford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.
Edgemont on the road again on Friday and play against Morrill at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Hemingford, they will challenge Crawford on Tuesday.
