Basketball Recap: Ben Wheeler and John Little Secure Win for Roxboro Community

Roxboro Community won the last time they faced Excelsior Classical Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Roxboro Community Bulldogs snuck past the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions with a 54-48 victory. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly six points.

Roxboro Community was led to victory by John Little and Ben Wheeler. Little dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, while Wheeler posted 21 points and five boards. Wheeler's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Excelsior Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Hunter Goss, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. Shawn Francis-Service was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Roxboro Community's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6.

Roxboro Community has already played their next game, a 76-24 loss against J.F. Webb on the 18th. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-48 victory against Henderson Collegiate on the 24th.
