While losing is never fun, Houston Homeschool Athletics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 951st, while Texas Lions HomeSchool is ranked 427th).
Leading Texas Lions HomeSchool to victory were Legend Durst and Jon Hadnot. Durst scored 19 points along with nine rebounds, while Hadnot scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Durst has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Herring, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Houston Homeschool Athletics' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.
Houston Homeschool Athletics on the road again on Saturday and play against Aggieland HomeSchool at 12:30 p.m. on January 13th. Aggieland HomeSchool and Houston Homeschool Athletics are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Texas Lions HomeSchool, Texas Lions HomeSchool and San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool will face off at 4:40 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 275 points over their last four contests.
