The Clear Creek Golddiggers struggled with assists on Thursday (the Dawson School Mustangs had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Clear Creek fell 53-45 to Dawson School. Clear Creek has struggled against Dawson School recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Golddiggers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler O'Brien, who scored 20 points along with four steals. O'Brien is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Hendrickson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Clear Creek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dawson School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Parker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peter Ernst, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Clear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Dawson School, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clear Creek will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Dayspring Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Dawson School, they will head out on the road to take on Front Range Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Front Range Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
