Knight is 0-10 against Quartz Hill since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 3:15 p.m. Knight will be strutting in after a win while Quartz Hill will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Knight made easy work of Antelope Valley and carried off a 14-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Sierra Gonzalez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Alvarez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zaydie Carrillo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Apple Valley hit Quartz Hill with a four-run fourth inning last Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Royals took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sun Devils.
Quartz Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leanna Medina, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Kynalea Cacal also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Knight and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Quartz Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Knight hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Quartz Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knight might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Quartz Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
