Washington Leadership Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on E.L. Haynes with a sharp 79-55 win. The win was just what Washington Leadership Academy needed coming off of a 81-47 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zyahir Mack, who scored 28 points. That's the first time this season that Mack scored 15 or more points. Elijah Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
E.L. Haynes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jency Beatriz, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Juan Creamer, who scored 11 points.
Washington Leadership Academy's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for E.L. Haynes, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
After both having extra time off, Washington Leadership Academy and Washington Latin Public Charter School will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Washington Latin Public Charter School is ranked 25th, while Washington Leadership Academy is ranked 31st).
