Solon has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Shaker Heights Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaker Heights took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Solon, who comes in off a win.
On Saturday, Solon earned a 53-42 win over Walsh Jesuit. The win was all the more spectacular given Solon's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Walsh Jesuit is ranked 167th).
Meanwhile, Shaker Heights pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 87-63 loss at the hands of Mentor. Shaker Heights has struggled against Mentor recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Solon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Shaker Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Solon was able to grind out a solid victory over Shaker Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 75-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Solon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
