The Tiverton Tigers were the 42-29 winner over the Mt. Hope Huskies when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Tiverton fell 43-33 to Mt. Hope on Friday. Tiverton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jah'niece Branch, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Branch is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Williams, who scored 11 points.
Leading Mt. Hope to victory were Emily Moran and Elsa White. Moran dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while White scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Moran hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Lilly DaSilveira, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Tiverton's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mt. Hope, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Moses Brown the next time they take the court. Mt. Hope will head out to face Moses Brown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Tiverton will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
