The Riverside Warriors lost against the Hurricane Redskins back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Riverside was beaten by Hurricane 83-48. Riverside has not had much luck with Hurricane recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leading Hurricane to victory were Carson O'Dell and Sha'lik Hampton. O'Dell scored 22 points, while Hampton scored 24 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was O'Dell's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Whittington, who scored two points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Riverside bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hurricane, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.
Riverside will be playing at home against St. Albans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Albans presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Riverside in West Virginia (St. Albans is ranked 18th, while Riverside is ranked 100th). As for Hurricane, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkersburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Hurricane likes a good challenge.
