The San Fernando Valley Academy Huskies came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Summit View and snuck past 44-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as San Fernando Valley Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Fernando Valley Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xzavier Herrera, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Herrera has scored all season. Jacob Corral was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
San Fernando Valley Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Summit View, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Fernando Valley Academy will take on Highland Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Summit View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pilgrim at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Pilgrim is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
