The Ridge Red Devil are on the road again on Monday and plays the Millburn Millers at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th.
Ridge pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 77-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Plainfield. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ridge came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 111th).
Meanwhile, Millburn posted their closest victory since January 17th on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Watchung Hills Regional 54-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Millburn.
Millburn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zach Benmorits, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Ravitz, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Millburn, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Ridge strolled past the Millers in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 by a score of 66-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
