After flying high against the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars last Wednesday, the Tarboro Vikings came back down to earth. Tarboro was dealt a 71-42 defeat at the hands of Washington County on Friday. Tarboro has struggled against Washington County recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Washington County found their leader in underclassman Aaliyah Carter, who scored 30 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Myia Young, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Tarboro has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Washington County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.
Tarboro will face off against Gates County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Gates County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Washington County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Perquimans at 6:00 p.m. Perquimans will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
