While Santaluces's win against Leonard wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Santaluces Chiefs skirted past the Leonard Lancers 3-2. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Daniel Vargas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had over his last four contests. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Vargas wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zach Raab, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Santaluces' win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Leonard, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
