Cape Fear Academy had won two straight games and Lila Hammer did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Hurricanes were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the John Paul II Catholic Saints thanks in part to Hammer, who had 20 assists and seven digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season.

While Cape Fear Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-17, 26-24.

Cape Fear Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for John Paul II Catholic, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
