The Community Christian Cyclones will square off against the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Community Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Father Capodanno, who was ranked 12th at the time (Community Christian was ranked ninth). The Cyclones took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-12 victory over the Grunts. The Cyclones haven't had any issues with the Grunts recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Community Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Beamon, who threw for 362 yards and three TDs while picking up 18.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Those 55 rushing yards gave Beamon a new career-high. Stephen Edwards was another key player, rushing for 118 yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Community Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandhills Classical Christian). They blew past Berean Baptist Academy 52-22 on Friday. With the Lions ahead 44-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Sandhills Classical Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Community Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Community Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 194.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sandhills Classical Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 234.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Community Christian might still be hurting after the 50-30 loss they got from Sandhills Classical Christian when the teams last played back in September.
