The team relied heavily on Jaden Burillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ishmael Fox, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Ontario and Montclair, and Ontario kept the tradition alive. Ontario never let Montclair get on the board and left with an 11-0 win last Friday. The matchup marked the Jaguars' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Eric Samaniego made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Samaniego was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Damian Lua was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Modesto Verdin, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Ontario always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Ontario's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Don Lugo, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
