There's no place like home for Gilmer County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Calhoun Red Devils on Friday as they made off with a 13-2 victory. Considering the Titans have won 21 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Smith was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emeri Hickman, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Gilmer County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive matchups.

Gilmer County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.
