Archbishop Curley dropped their record down to 13-8 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 13-1 to the John Carroll Patriots. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Friars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for John Carroll, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for John Carroll, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For John Carroll's part, Pierce Quinn tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Quinn has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
