The Liberty Common Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-44 loss at the hands of Prospect Ridge Academy. While losing is never fun, Liberty Common can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Prospect Ridge Academy is ranked 114th).
Despite the loss, Liberty Common still got an impressive performance from Max Frevert, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pierce Richardson, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Liberty Common struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Prospect Ridge Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Liam Schilling, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Tyler Brandt was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Liberty Common's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Common on the road again on Friday and play against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Averaging 71.1 so far this season, Highland's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Liberty Common better be ready for a challenge. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Kent Denver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kent Denver is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
