The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, Shenandoah Valley was not quite Hamburg's equal in the second half on Saturday. Shenandoah Valley fell just short of Hamburg by a score of 43-40. Shenandoah Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shenandoah Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of John Silvestre, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks, and John Burke who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Brayden Maksimik was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Tamaqua pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Mount Carmel 65-60.
The losses dropped Shenandoah Valley to 0-2 and Hamburg to 1-1.
Shenandoah Valley beat Tamaqua 62-55 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Shenandoah Valley repeat their success, or does Tamaqua have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
