Makayla Mumaw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Breighlee Moracco was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mea Hendershot, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Caldwell hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Monroe Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
