Regina's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marian. While losing is never fun, Regina can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Marian is ranked 122nd).
It was another big night for Mckenzie Swanson, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 blocks for Marian. Molly McLeod was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Regina's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Marian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Regina will be playing at home against Divine Child at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Divine Child is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Marian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mercy at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th.
