Gretna lost against Lincoln Northeast in their previous head to head back in February of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-44 score last time.
Doneelah Washington continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lincoln Northeast, dropping a double-double on 43 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Washington's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Serena Heeren, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Gretna's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lincoln Northeast, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Gretna will be home for the holidays to greet Burke at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Northeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
