The Columbus Explorers will challenge the Westminster Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Columbus lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Boca Raton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. Columbus was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over West Boca Raton on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Explorers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Columbus got a great performance from Michael Say as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Say has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jose Correa was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Matthew Fernandez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Boca Raton only posted a batting average of .150.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westminster Christian). They blew past Keys Gate 13-1 on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Aaron Hernandez looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Westminster Christian got a massive performance out of Landon Tews, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lucas Argudin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.
Columbus pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Westminster Christian, their record is now 5-2-1.
Columbus came up short against Westminster Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 6-1. Can Columbus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
