The Futures Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Foresthill Wildfires at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Futures knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Foresthill likes a good challenge.
Futures put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 75-29 victory over Delta. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Futures has posted against Delta since January 8, 2019.
Futures relied on the efforts of Deonta Dorrough, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Daniel Kozlov, who scored 22 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Dorrough is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. EJ George was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Sacramento Waldorf typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Foresthill proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Waves 68-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Foresthill.
Futures' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Foresthill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.
Futures strolled past Foresthill when the teams last played on January 2nd by a score of 84-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Futures since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
