Soccer Recap: Canton Comes Up Short

Canton has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 24. They came up short against the Brighton Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Canton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Brighton are ranked 20th).

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-3. As for Brighton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Huron at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Brighton, they will square off against Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Brighton surely won't give up without a fight.
