Harlingen South came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Harlingen South got several good pitching performances, but Ryan Porter was perhaps the best, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Porter posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Nick Garza was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kris Cruz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Harlingen South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Harlingen South pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Edcouch-Elsa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
