The Howard Huskies 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-46 to Northside. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Howard in their matchups with Northside: they've now lost three in a row.
Northside can attribute much of their success to Jordan Gaines, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gaines scored 15 or more points. Damien Dee was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Howard bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northside, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Howard will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westside at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Northside will be home for the holidays to greet Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
