After flying high against the Cristo Rey Tampa Panthers on Thursday, the Universal Academy Falcons came back down to earth. The game between Universal Academy and Indian Rocks Christian wasn't particularly close, with Universal Academy falling 38-21. Universal Academy has not had much luck with Indian Rocks Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Indian Rocks Christian was led to victory by Malia Stevens and Kayleigh Atkinson. Stevens scored nine points, while Atkinson scored 11 points.
Universal Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Universal Academy will head out on the road to challenge Academy at the Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, Indian Rocks Christian and Sarasota Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sarasota Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
