The Community Christian Academy Warriors will take on The Master's Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Community Christian Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Alexander Christian Academy just ended the team's six-game winning streak dating back to last season on Monday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.
Mason Maltba was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Aiden Thomas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Even though they lost, Community Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexander Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .281.
Meanwhile, The Master's Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mountain View Christian Academy 19-6. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Sawyer Waugh made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Waugh was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Herring, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Noah Lail, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
The Master's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Community Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Community Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .557. However, it's not like The Master's Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .550. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Community Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over The Master's Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-4.
