Central Bucks East and Pennridge are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Patriots will welcome the Rams at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Central Bucks East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Central Bucks East had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Central Bucks South put an end to it on Tuesday. The Patriots lost 7-0 to the Titans. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Central Bucks East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Masterson, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Masterson's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Pennridge waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Galloping Ghosts.
Averi Dockery made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Payton Keyser was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Gulbinski, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
The win got Pennridge back to even at 7-7. As for Central Bucks East, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Central Bucks East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pennridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Central Bucks East skirted past Pennridge 12-11 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
