The First Colonial Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 58-51 to Ocean Lakes. First Colonial was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ocean Lakes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Ocean Lakes found their leader in underclassman Samara Williams, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 24 rebounds. The contest was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Allison Ragudo, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
First Colonial bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Ocean Lakes, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
First Colonial will be home for the holidays to greet Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ocean Lakes, they will head out on the road to face off against Princess Anne at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
