South Dade has been on the road for seven straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southwest Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, South Dade was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Homestead. While losing is never fun, South Dade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while Homestead is ranked 239th).
Meanwhile, Southwest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 56-49 to Coral Reef.
South Dade has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Southwest, they bumped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
South Dade strolled past Southwest in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-38. Does South Dade have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
